My passion for art was ignited by my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. I pursued this passion by attending the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where I majored in illustration. After graduation, I secured a graphic design/illustration position at Fifth Sun in Chico, California, designing apparel and staying up-to-date with the latest pop culture references and design trend research.
As a Senior Illustrator/Graphic Designer in Mad Engine Global's e-commerce department, I lead and direct design projects for recognizable brands including Disney, NBC Universal, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Lego, and Coca-Cola. With in-house design experience, I have donned many hats such as creating a Lifestyle request workflow and maintaining Adobe Storage admin credentials.
In my current position I am experimenting with new programs, teaching new hires tips and tricks, staying up to date with the latest technology, creating easy to use templates, building our Sharepoint site, managing our Adobe asset libraries and creating new workflows as our tools evolve.
Currently, I am expanding my program learning to include motion graphics using After Effects and learning the animation and paint tools in Adobe Fresco and figuring out how the world of AI may affect what I choose to do next in my career and how I can grow with it and utilize it as a new and exciting tool.
In addition to my professional work, I am also an avid volunteer in my community on the board of the Chico Arts and Culture Foundation running social media marketing and web development and also a Co Director of the annual Animation Chico film festival running social media marketing and brand content creation, as well as organising festival events. On top of that, I have begun showcasing my own artwork at small pop-up markets and fairs as I continue to explore new mediums and techniques to create the endless ideas in my mind.
